Ada Ciganlija is an environmental oasis of peace located on the river Sava in Belgrade. Ada is surrounded by acres of natural protected beauty, which provides and facilitates numerous sport activities and artistic events.

The group of British-Serbian volunteers headed by Charlie Nikolic and Maya Momcilovic Jordan have decided to set up a project ‘Ada Art’,
with the aim of recognizing and highlighting the importance of protecting such a vital national resource,
which represents an essential part of Belgrade’s long living ‘boat house’ tradition and national heritage.

Project organisers are members of Serbian organizations in Great Britain that have been organizing cultural and charitable events for many years, in order to make stronger connection between Serbia and Diaspora. Charity concerts and project ‘Magic & Toys’ are just some among numerous activities organized to help children in Serbia.

The aim of the ‘Ada Art’ project is to encourage children to appreciate and preserve Ada Ciganlija for future generations and to highlight the need for preservation and protection of living environment and through participating
in the art competition learn more about Ada.

Organizers are looking for talented children and would like
to help them in developing their arty skills.

The vision of ‘Ada Art’ project is to demonstrate the ‘circle
of life’ by the people of good-will helping young generations
to express their artistic abilities, connecting our environment
and our selves through art and confirming the relation between
what we put into and what we get out of our life and our living
environment.

Participants of the project are children from primary and
secondary schools, between 10 and 17 years old.
